At Emmanuel, we know that God has expressed Himself in a very special way through this unique book. His person, His programs and His plans are revealed within its pages – which makes it both profound and constantly relevant for daily living. We believe that the Bible is the owner’s manual for life, so we strive to understand and practically apply the Scriptures on a daily basis.

The Word of God: We believe the Holy Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God and thus completely without error in the original manuscripts. It is the totally trustworthy guide for life, faith and practice.

God: We believe in One God who exists eternally in three co-equal persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in Jesus Christ who lived a sinless life, died on the cross for the sins of the world, rose again on the third day and who is coming soon to judge the world.
We believe in the Holy Spirit who is our comforter, counselor, teacher and source of strength.

Man: We believe that God created man in His own image and because of this, every person has unique worth. But we also believe that mankind was essentially corrupted as a result of Adam’s disobedience and we are all now sinners both by nature and by deed.

Salvation: We believe that because of our sinful nature and rebellious acts we stand separated from God and under His wrath. The only remedy for this condition is the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. No amount of self-effort or good works can secure our salvation. Forgiveness is only possible by accepting God’s freely offered gift of grace through faith in the work of His Son, Jesus.

Security: We believe that all who are genuinely “born again” are kept eternally secure by the power of God through the Holy Spirit.

The Church: We believe that the Church is the world-wide body consisting of all those who have placed their faith and trust in Christ and therefore have fellowship with all who hold to historic orthodox Christian doctrine. In essentials we have unity. In non-essentials we have liberty. In all things we have charity.

The Life: We believe that God calls us to be conformed to the image of Christ, to be His witnesses and to be salt and light to a lost and dying world.

After Death: We believe that all who have a relationship with Christ will immediately be with Him in paradise at their death. All who die apart from Him will experience eternal punishment.

End Things: We believe in the personal, imminent return of Jesus to claim His own, a great tribulation and a literal thousand year millennial kingdom as described primarily in the book of the Revelation.

Ordinances: We practice two ordinances: water baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper (typically the first Sunday of each month).

Social Issues: We believe that God graciously designed and gave the gifts of marriage and human sexuality and thus has the absolute right to set its appropriate boundaries. We therefore affirm marriage to be solely between one man and one woman. We further affirm the Bible’s clear teaching that all forms of sexual activity occurring outside that institution are sin in God’s eyes.

We believe in the sanctity of human life and therefore are opposed to abortion and euthanasia.

Church Government: Emmanuel Bible Church is an independent non-denominational congregation. We are an elder governed, staff led congregation. Our deacon and deaconess boards are charged to assist the staff and elders by ministering to the needs of people.
